Get Lit: A Spotlight on Minnesota Artists
Presented by Douglas Flanders & Associates

Today, we’re getting lit with Minnesota artist Andy Iverson.
Through a strong use of strong lines, bold colors and sculptural shapes, Iverson’s paintings hum with a barely contained energy. Arranged into emblematic compositions, his works convey symbolic powers the artist willingly shares with those willing to participate.
By participation, Iverson means for the viewer to become a part of the work by deciding what it means to them. But don’t worry. Iverson makes it easy. He only asks that you look one line, color and shape at a time. That’s it. Your life experiences will lead you where you need to go. There is no right or wrong. Heck, every time you view the same work you might come to a different conclusion because you might not be the same person anymore.
Iverson believes that art is a potentially powerful force but one must first succumb to it fully. Only then can its power be shared and exercised purposefully.
